Our TeamHello Redbud families,
I am writing to let you all know that my wife and I are planning to move to Washington state this upcoming July. As many of you know, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and after moving away and having the chance to explore the rest of the country for the past 16 years, we decided that it would be best for our family to move closer to home. While we are excited for this new opportunity, a huge part of me is saddened to have to leave this community that we have called home for the past three years and have grown to love. We have truly enjoyed living in Wichita and are so grateful to everyone for making our time here so amazing and memorable.
To the families of all our Redbud patients, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the opportunity to care for your child. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms when I first started and thank you for all the memories that I will carry with me. While these past few years have been uniquely challenging in many ways, your perseverance, patience, kindness and compassion have always uplifted and encouraged me through the ups and downs and I am so appreciative for that.
To the families of my patients, thank you for allowing me the privilege to be your child’s pediatrician. Thank you for placing your trust in me and my colleagues at Redbud. It is a responsibility I took very seriously, and it is my hope that you always felt heard, respected and valued as we partnered together to care for your child. I have cherished the relationships that we have built over the past few years. Having the opportunity to see your children grow and thrive in various stages of their lives, from taking their first steps and saying their first words to starting their first day in school to graduating high school, has been a blast. I am sad that I will not be able to continue witnessing these milestones with you all, but I am excited for my colleagues who will have the chance to continue in these relationships.
And lastly, to my patients (many of whom are still too young to read this, but it’s okay); I will miss you dearly. You are all such rockstars. You are the reason I love what I do. You make going to work so rewarding. It’s been so much fun getting to see you do amazing things and hear about the triumphs in your life. I love hearing about you trying new vegetables for the first time (and actually liking some of them!). I love hearing about how brave you will be when you get your shots this time around. I love hearing about the friends you are making at school. I love hearing that you brag to your friends at preschool that your doctor is the author of many books they are currently reading…like Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham (true story!). I love and will miss all these things and so much more. Go out and do great things as I know you will, and know that I will always be rooting for you.
Thank you all again for everything. I wish you all the very best and God bless you all.
Dr. Michael Su
