I grew up in St. Joseph, MO and attended Missouri Western State University, home of the Golden Griffons (and the Kansas City Chiefs training camp). I took a few gap years between undergraduate and medical school, during which I worked as an ER scribe and took multiple medical mission trips to Jamaica.
I moved to Kansas City, MO for medical school where I attended Kansas City University and received my Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine as well as a Master of Arts in Bioethics. It was there through their Score 1 for Health program that I found my passion for Pediatrics. I also married my high-school sweetheart at that time.
Residency brought my wife and I to Wichita by way of the University of Kansas – Wichita Pediatrics residency program. Residency was full of excitement and learning, due in no small part to the birth of our son during the first year. During our time here for residency, my wife and I fell in love with the city and decided to put down roots. The fun-loving family-centered atmosphere at Redbud was the perfect fit for me.
When it comes to medical care, I believe in partnering with families and serving as a trusted resource so they can make confident, informed decisions about their child’s health. I value open communication, evidence-based care, and building long-term relationships with my patients from infancy through adolescence.
