I was born and raised in the Wichita area, so I am excited to serve this community as a part of the Redbud Team. My grandmother was my inspiration for pursuing a career in the medical field. I can still remember her crisp, white uniform and watching her zip down hallways when I would visit her at work.
I began my career as a CNA on the pediatric floor at Wesley Medical Center while finishing my bachelor’s degree in Biology from Friends University. I then went on to graduate from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. I worked in pediatric primary care, apheresis, and pediatric specialty care before graduating with my master’s degree in nursing and becoming a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Redbud Pediatrics, I worked in family practice at a critical access hospital and clinic in Marion County. I also served in the Kansas Air National Guard for 6 years. My time in the military taught me the importance of the values of integrity, service, and excellence. I strive to apply these core values to my civilian life as well.
I am married with two young children. Time outside of work is spent chauffeuring my kids to school and extracurricular activities. Becoming a mom gave me a new perspective on pediatric care as I have experienced the triumphs, struggles, and sleepless nights of parenthood first-hand. I desire to develop trusting relationships and equip patients and their families with the education and support to navigate the highs and lows of each stage of development.
