“I began working as a registered nurse at the bedside at the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Virginia and then moved to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for two years at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California, while completing my nurse practitioner program. Prior to moving to Wichita, I worked as a nurse practitioner for a pediatric office in a suburb outside of Kansas City.
I believe education is such an important part of healthcare. Whether it’s helping new parents learn how to care for their newborn, navigating through those challenging toddler years, discussing an acute illness or helping a teen learn how to manage their asthma medications, I find great joy in empowering parents and patients alike through education. One very important goal I have for myself as a provider is to make sure you understand what is going on with your child and feel comfortable and confident taking care of them when you leave the office.
I am married, and we have one young son and a German Shepherd named Addie; soon, we will be adding a puppy to our family! My husband served in the United States Navy for five years, which gave us the opportunity to live on both the East and West coasts. I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, camping, hiking, swimming—anything outdoors, really! But I also love to sit down with a good book and a hot cup of coffee when I get the chance (which isn’t often, because I have a toddler!).
I am very thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Redbud Pediatrics team and would be honored to help care for your child!”
