I was born in Wichita, raised in Emporia, and returned repeatedly to Wichita as a child to spend time with my grandparents doing fun things like going to the Sedgwick County Zoo, Barnacle Bill’s FantaSea, and watching fireworks at Lawrence -Dumont Stadium during Riverfest. My husband also grew up near Wichita, and after living in the Topeka area for 15 years, we are both excited to move to Wichita to be near family again. We have two Shih Tzu dogs, and during our time in Topeka we housed many junior hocky players over the years. We look forward to spending time with my nieces in Wichita and to taking in all the sporting events that Wichita has to offer!
Most of my family works or has worked in health care and I knew from an early age that I wanted to practice medicine. My grandmothers were both nurses in Wichita and my mother was a nurse practitioner in Wichita for years. Through them I learned what it takes to provide care for others and how rewarding that can be. Growing up in Kansas showed me how small-town residents value education and providing opportunities for youth. The reasons I chose pediatrics are that children are an especially vulnerable population and the path to wellness for children can have many different potential routes. I look forward to working with parents and children to develop an individualized care plan to benefit their specific family needs while still providing the best possible care.
