Meet Doctor Pham
Hello, my name is Giao Pham (pronounced “Yow”).
I am a first-generation Vietnamese-American, born and raised in Wichita, with parents who escaped their homeland consumed by the Vietnam War. They escaped via boat as no other form of transportation was readily available. With no money and starting anew in a foreign land, they worked hard to go from zero to whatever number represents success. As you can imagine, people with backgrounds similar to this will most likely have parents who instilled core values such as hard work, dedication, and perseverance to attain the “American Dream” in their children. I am such an example.
I have a passion for taking care of the little ones as they are our future. Sure, some days may be interrupted with the spraying of bodily fluids or the shrieks of a child getting vaccines. As a mother of three children and a Yorkie I can empathize with these stressors. However, in the end, the excitement of holding a newborn in my hands, the joy of having an energetic toddler running towards me or a teenager sharing with me his or her dreams makes it all worthwhile. The field of pediatrics is rewarding due to the long-term relationship providers form with their families built upon trust and bidirectional collaboration. Pediatricians get to watch the children grow from tiny newborns to full fledge You-tubing teenagers. The pediatrician essentially becomes a part of the family through the happy times and the more difficult times. I hope to share laughter with your family and also do my job of easing your concerns in an objective and professional manner. Together we can raise a physically and mentally healthy child!
