We ask you to arrive on time to your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes we may have to r-schedule your child for a different appointment time. We call to confirm appointment 2 business days in advance and request a 24-hour cancelation notice. Please call our office as soon as possible if you are not able to keep an appointment. We understand that there are family emergencies and difficulties which arise, and we therefore do not charge for missed appointments. However, if a family has a pattern of repeated missed appointments or last minute cancellations, they may be asked to leave the practice.

Appointments are available for same day sick visits on an as needed basis. A nurse often will be asked to talk with you on the phone and see how urgently your child should be seen. We prefer not to see walk in patients; please call our clinic and we will schedule an appointment according to your needs.

If your child travels out of the country, there are often questions about appropriate immunizations and risks of travel including, potential exposure to illnesses like malaria. Our office is experienced in international travel and is happy to make your child an appointment so that we can address travel concerns and help keep your child safe and healthy. This is not a topic which we will manage over the phone or add on to a well child visit, so please plan accordingly. Many medications and immunizations for travel need to be given 2-4 weeks prior to the departure date.

If you arrive with your child for a visit and have brought another sick child whom you would like to be seen, we do our very best to accommodate you at that time. Sometimes we may need to find another time in the day that you return with your other child/ren. Copay’s are due for each child that is seen by a provider that day. We do not book more than two siblings at a time for well visits, as it usually makes for a chaotic visit for all involved. In addition, in middle school onward, please schedule your children for well visits on different days in order to give each child the attention and privacy they deserve.
